Food Waste
- Adopt a healthier and more sustainable diet: Preparing nutritious meals can be a
challenge, but 'healthy' doesn't necessarily mean 'processed', there are many quick and healthy recipes.
- Buy only what you need: Make a shopping list and stick to it, avoiding impulse buys and by doing so you will avoid any waste.
- Choose "ugly" fruits and vegetables: Don't judge food by its appearance. Oddly shaped or bruised fruits and vegetables are often thrown away because they don't meet arbitrary aesthetic standards.
- Store food wisely: Move older products to the front of the pantry or refrigerator, and new products to the back.
- Start in Love Your Leftovers Kid: If you don't eat everything you prepare or cook, freeze it for later or use the leftovers as an ingredient in another meal.
- Recycle your food waste: Instead of throwing your leftovers away, compost them. This way you return nutrients to the soil and reduce your carbon footprint.
- Respect the food: Respect what you eat without wasting anything.
- Use less water: We cannot produce food without water, reducing food waste also saves all the water resources needed to produce it.
- We keep our land and water clean: Some waste is very dangerous, such as batteries, mobile phones, etc., and should never be placed in a normal rubbish bin.
- Eat more legumes and vegetables: Once a week, try eating a meal of legumes or "ancient" grains like quinoa.
- Sharing means caring: Donate food to others because otherwise it would go to waste.
